- Seventy-five women of the First Congregational Church of Evanston enjoyed a picnic meeting at the home of Mrs. Ballinger in Hubbard Woods last week. People mentioned include Mrs. Frank M. Elliott, Dr. McElveen, Mrs. W. M. Green, Mrs. E. D. Redington, Mrs. A.D. Sanders, Sr., Miss Flora Starr, Miss Wheelock, Mrs. Knapp, Miss Skinner, Mrs. S. E. Hurlbut , Mrs. Poarch. Separately, a different group from the church were at a meeting at th Park Ridge school. They included Mrs. E. J. Buffington, Mrs. T. A. Somerville, Mrs. James Odell provided transportation. Last Thursday the Home Missionary society enjoyed a "wheel sociable" at the home of Mrs. Hakes on Hinman Ave. Miss Nona Hakes entertained with music. On June 27 another social was enjoyed at Lincoln Park. Mrs. J.J. Collins, Mrs. Bushnell and Mrs. Weige were the committee embers.
