New Trier graduate Caroline DeWeirdt helped her William Smith College rowing team land a first-place finish at the HWS Challenge on the Canal on Oct. 6 in Geneva, N.Y.

Johnny Wingels of Wilmette committed to play hockey at Miami (Ohio) two weeks ago. He plays for the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey Leabue. Wingels' brother, Tommy also placed at Miami.
