MAIWMEN WILMETTE LIFE, FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 1924 IN NATIONAL SHOOT IME y low st of Wait 'fhe War Department announces that J5 marksmen are to be selected from the students of the Citizens' Military Training Camps to be held in this Corps Area August 1 to 30, 1924. These marksmen will be chosen by competitive tests at Camp Custer, Michigan from among C. M. T. C. students who fire the rifle course, the fifteen fortunate ones who win this honor will he sent to Camp Perry, Ohio on Lake Erie to arrive there August 30 where they will compete in national and international rifle matches until September 20 and then will return to their homes. Only two members of last year's Citizens' Training Camps rifle range teams will be eligible for appointment among the fifteen and these will be selected according to their scores made in the national meets . at Camp Perry Ohio in 1923. , Successful competitors will be sent to Camp Perry, Ohio in time to arrive on August 30. They will be furnished all transportation, subsistence, as well as uniforms and medical attention ·while o.n the team. Entrance fees in competitive meets at Camp Perry will be paid by the Camp authorities. Place Dr. M. C. Hecht Talks Before Wilmette Rotary The seventh weekly luncheon of the \\'ilm.ette Club of Rotary Wednesday of th1s week at the Onilmette Country club was marked by a 100 per cent attendance and established the env{ahle record 100 per cent attendance at rwry luncheon since the inception of th e club. On Wednesday the club heard an extremely interesting talk by Dr. M. C. Hecht, on the theme, "My Busine ss," representing the third of a series of talks by members on interesting facts concerning thelir chosen field of activity. Lt. Col. Albert L. Denman, World war Yeteran and Wilmette superintendent of police, will be the speaker at the luncheon of Wilmette Rotary next Wednesday noon. on Ave Owen Davis' celebrated Broadway success, "Icebound," will be presented at the Kenilworth Assembly hall Thursday evening, May 1, by the North Shore Theatre Guild. It will be the fourth and last Guild production of the current season. "Icebound" was the Pulitzer Prize play of 1922-23 and is one of the most generally discussed plays of the season. It was never taken out on the road, although enjoying a record engagement o.t the Harris theatre, New York, so will be witnessed for the first time by most north shore playgoers. The play surrounds the story of the Jordan Clan in Veazie, Maine, and is said to be a marvelously typical portrayal of life in northern New England, the author's ntaive heath. It is described as intensely interesting, with amusing comedy, a worth while idea and possessing excellent characterizations. The complete cast is as follows: Henry Jordan ...... Wm. The play will he given in the auditorium of the schoo l at ·s p'clock. It will be directed by Miss Lucy Tolhurst, the literature teacher of the eighth grade. The pupils having read and studied the play, thought they would enjoy !fiving it. Mr. Mark was engineer for the Kenilworth Water company.
