WILMETTE LIFE November 27, 192S Village President Addresses Meeting of Business Women X early fifty business and professional women and girls listened with interest to Earl E. Orner Thursday evening, November 19, when, as village president, he gave an enjoyable talk on "The Government of \Vilmette" on the occasion of the...November meeting of the Business Woman's club. His concise and detailed account of the affairs of the village, of its problems, and of the groups of men with the affairs of \Vilmette in charge, was interspersed with glimpses historical and personal of the village and some of the early settlers from its very beginning to its present status, and with ;~.cidents to indicate that official duties of even a village president have their humorous moments. Mr. Orner's talk was preceded by the serving of a supper at tables decorated to foretell the Thanksgiving season. Miss Ann Whitmack, president of the club, gave a brief account of the purpose of the club and conducted the meeting at which it was decided to have at each session a talk pertaining to government of viHage, township, county, or state.
