This was the first of a series of three given each year, with Ludwig Becker , the conductor. The splendid ensemble work and t he beautiful tone quality and shading of these young students, as it was professional playing, and not in the stuqent class, were outstanding features of the evening, during which the fo llowing program was given and broadcast. Milan Lusk Gains Big Following of Radio Listeners Recently :Mi lan Lusk, the distinguished violinist, appeareJ on a special radio program and achieved a noteworthy success. Letters attesting to the remarkab' .f fine performance l.ave been pourit g in from all sides, it is said. Doug;ass, writing in the Chicago Tribune of December 24, says: "The recital by Milan Lusk was, as always, filled with interest and enjoyment. Mr. Lusk produces tones as fine and pure as a thread c-r round and fu ll and robust, and his technic is so perfect that it sounds as though the Yiolin could sound no other way." Within the next two mor;.ths, Mr. Lusk is billed to appear in some of the largest music centers in Illinois, :Michigan, Kansas, and probably Iowa. He will give an entire recital in the College Auditorium of the UniYersity of I ll inois on February 11.
