She said t hat at fir st she had i10 in tention of teaching at N cw Trier, and when her fat her suggested to her that she teac h a t the sc hool, whi ch was just be ing hui lt. she jokingly replied, "Oh, I don't want to teach in a little country school !" One of her main interests in the outside acti \·itics at New Trier when she first taught there was drari1atics. Among the plays whic h she coached were "The Rivals." and "She Stoops to Conquer."
