At the beginning of each year a physical examination is given to each student by a physician and the findings reported confidentially to the parent of each ~tudent. GYM WORK IMPORTANT New Trier High School Physical Education and Health Work Wina National Award One of the reasons why New Trier High school stood so high that it tied another school for the National Health award this year is its excellent physical training department, under the direction of Vv. L. Childs and Miss Marion F. Goodman. This departm ent carries on a program of physical education and health \York which reaches every student in the school. The courses in Physical Training arc conducted in the Gvmnasium, the Natatorium. and on the athletic field. This \\·ork is required of ~very student two periods ach week. In addition to a program of regular e·xercises and sports, instruction is regularly given in matters of hygiene and health. For students who have special I Music Club Draws Many Students of High School The Music club of New Trier High school, which has been holding social meetings regularly at the homes of various members during the year, has just ended its sixth successful year. The club is composed of musicians who liavc tried out and been voted into the organization by a committee of jmlgcs. These talented ones arc activl' members, while the re st of the cluh arc associate mcmhcrs. The associate members arc those who love music hut arc not particularly talenfcd. The\· have the privilege of attending ever\' third meeting. The purpose of the club is to hring about a closer acquaintance among the music lovers of New Trier. "Echoes," Year Book, Is Fine Anniversary Issue The Echoes, New Trier high school's annual, was distributed to the students on Friday, ] une 4. All of the copies, some of which were bound in paper and others in leather, were sold. The Echoes is a publication gotten out each year by the students, and is con~rolled by the senior class. It contains records, pictures, and accounts of various clubs, societies and activities, and the classes.
