This first orchestra was composed of 12 members, under the leadership of R. \V. Sharpe, a member of the faculty. The instruments used were two cornets, six violins, a piano, flute, bass viol, trombone and drums. Reading from left to right the mem- hers were Paul Fernald, Gage Hall, Charles Eastman, Hugh !\1elville, Howard M ussen, Mamie Sieber, Paul McQueenc, Edith Corette, ~1arj o rie Hankey, Irving Evans, Roger ~forri son and Allan Hyde. Compare this group with the present Kew Trier orchestra of 45 members, which includes C\'cry in st rument of a symphony orchestra.
