Drayer,. at the meeting of -rhe Village board Tuesday evening called attention to the fact that Fire Prevention week occurs October 2 to 9, and suggested it might he ad·:isable for some formal observance of the period by special inspection of theater. schools, churches and other public buildings. Villag-e ~tanager C. C. Schultz stated that \Valter Zibble, chief of the fire department has been making regular inspections of these places and President Orner offered a further word of commendation of the chief's work by adcling "you have noti~;:ed, no doubt, that the fire whistle does not blow as often as it formerly did." Nina Fitch Babcock Wed to F. L. Bailey at Meredith, N. H . The marriage of Miss Nina Fitch Babcock of Meredith, N. H., and Winnetka, to Francis Louis Bailey of Ann Arbor, M.i ch., and Winnetka, took place Saturday afternoon. August 14, at 4 o'clock, in the North ,c hurch of Meredith . The bride wore a white gown with tulle veil fastened with lilies-of-the\'alley, and carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses and lilies-of-the-valley. Her only ornament was a string of pearls. the gift of the groom. She was attended by her sister as maid of honor. Miss Agnes Darling Babcock, who was dres sed in pale pink crepe de chine with hat to match. and carried ophelia roses and sweet peas. The church was colorfully decoratecl with ferns and gladioli.
