October 22, 1926 WILMETTE LIFE Muenzer Trio in Initial Concert of Chamber Series (By 1\lusle Critic) The writer arrived at the M uenzer Trio recital in the middle of tLe first movement of the opening number, which happened to be Schubert's always delightful Trio in B Flat Major, Opus 99. It was being played wtth the technical ability and ·artistic feeling c~~racteristic of this group of mustctan, Hans M uenzer, violinist and leader, Hans Koelbel, cellist, and Rudolph Wagner, pianist. The tones from the three in struments blended into a most harmonious and beautiful ensemble, holding the happy attention of the audience to the very close of the all too short program. The second and last number was the Quartet in E Flat Major, Opus 87, by Dvorak. It was in marked contrast to the Schubert number. Where the latter w.as rather sweet and smoothly melodtous, the Dvorak composition was alive with sprightly rhythms and nearOriental phrases. The audience demanded and were g-iven an encore. a classic selection, which sounded like Havdn. In this encore as in the second program number the viola part was played by Fred Rittner. A capacity audience was presettt to enioy this. the bctrinning o+ thr 192{}-27 season sponsored by the North Shore Mu sic association. The next recital will take place on December 12 at 4 o'clock, in the Kenilworth Ass~mbly hall. ou need not pay much to have a Series 8o Pour distinct models of Custom-built Coaches Six Color Options What a pity if you still think of Pierce-Arrow ownership as .the privilege of the wealthy few only.
