52 WILMETTE LIFE October 22, 1926 Be Sure to Plan Your Winter Trip to Teachers' Club Hears Terminals Annex Talk on Child Nurture First Basketball Miss Margaret Hayes of the Central school spoke on the convention of the National Educational association at the Teachers' club Tuesday afternoon of this week, held at the Central S'Chool. Miss Hayes attended th,e convention at Philadelphia this summer. Miss Hayes emphasized the attention that was given at the convention to the importance of the child itself, rather than to the usual subjects of curriculum and the like. The club enjoyed informal talks on their travels in Europe the past summer by Miss Laura Flentye and Miss Margaret McPartlin of the Central school, and Mrs. Lester Hesse of Howard school. The talks centered around England, France and the battlefields, Switzerland and Italy. Dr. Stephen A. Lloyd of the Congregational church will speak on "Child Psychology" at the meeting of the club on November 15. Last Saturday evening l\·fi ss Dorothy M. Olson of 736 Roger avenue, Kenilworth entertained at bridge. Among her guests were Mr. and Mrs. Omer Dahm of Kenilworth, Mr. and Mrs. Earle Morses, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nelson,- Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Spitz of Evanston, and M.r. and ~Irs. Wallace Agnew of Chicago. Encounter 62 to 1 The first basketball game betwee.n teams of the Wilmette Recreation league, scheduled for Wedn~sday evening of this wee~, was for~etted to the Term;nal Athletic club qumtet by the Methodist's second team. The Terminals also won a game, 62 to 1 from St. Joseph's second team, Thu;sday evening of last week, in which Robert McLean and Russell Johnson, forwards, did st~llar work. Manning Powers and Lyman Goss, as guards and MilJard Powers as center,. as the score indicates, were likewise active in their respective positions, the combination giving evidence of one of the fastest teams in the history of the Terminals. The indoor baseball team of the Terminals played the Congregational church team Thursday evening of this week. Both Terminal Quoit teams arc seheduled for games this evening. Mr. and Mrs. Burton B.
