It bas taken: 1 -STEADFAST '» COURAGE- on the part of our p. ioneers, and a continued deter·mination to attain greater comforts and conveniences. Steadfast courage that has brought good schools and churches, finer roads, good lighting and transportation systems, parks, in fact, civic improvements commensurate with our growth. It bas taken : 2-FIDELITY-to our country, our homes, and our community. Fidelity and loyalty between the business interests and the residents of Wilmette, which has developed an increasing community spirit through the years. It bas taken: · 3-WHOLE-HEARTED CO-QPERATION-and a helpful spirit of achievement in fostering worthy enterprises and accomplishing the aims and ambitions that have been for the advancement of Wilmette. It bas taken: 4-GOOD WILL-toward neighbor and fellow-worker - - a ready smile, a hearty handclasp, and a friendly word at all times - - more, a helping hand in time of · need. The Steadfast Courage, Fidelity, Whole-Hearted Co-Operation, and Good Will of the past have achieved much, but we cannot rest on our past laurels and make the most of present and future opportunities in Wilmette. .
