Aqthorities on optometry, le,c turers of. nation-wide repute have been secured to speak before · members of the profession on the latest developments know,-I ·in :optometric science. Years of experimentation on the part' of ocular specialists have developed several inst.ruments to their present state of high efficiency and the use of which hav~ made possible certain examinations and correct diagnosis of eye condition heretofore impossible, according to Dr. .Stone. One of the instruments, the Streak Retinoscope, is scarcely larger than a large fountain pen, having at one enu a cap in which the.re is contained a miniature electric bulb and reflector. . Its resultant hair line streak of light, when reflected into the human eye enabies the optometrist to observe the action of the light reflected, and to exactly diagnose its condition. Its use makes it possible to cor.r ectly fit glasses for the deaf and dumb as it precludes the necessity of questions being asked . and charts read. These instruments will be on display and their uses fully demonstrated will be one of the strong attractions which will draw some 1,500 optometrists and friends, coming from practically every city of Illinois and other states ' · New Trier Takes Triangular Meet Jlrom (}hicagoans New Trier high school last Saturday won the junior and senior honors in a t.riangular track meet with Lake View and Senn at the Northwestern· university gymnasium.
