WILMETTE LIFE . March 11, 1927 I Camp Fire Sparks (By E. P.) Camp Fire Girls throughout the city of Chicago and suburbs will come totogether Friday night, March 18 for the celebration of the fifteenth birth day of Camp Fire. There are nearly six thousand Camp Fire girls in the greater Chicago council who need your interest to make the birthday program a success. The evening will open with vocal music of a three hundred voice chorus. This chorus contains two representatives as a maximum, from every Camp Fire group in the city. They will sing three numbers, and then lead the girls and friends in the audience in Camp songs. The second part of the program is a pageant, "The Rainbow King" contributed by the girls on the north shore. The cast : Rainbow King ...... Carolyn Bellarr..y Woman . . . . . . . . . . . . Marjorie Thorsen There are three large dancing and singing choruses, the sunbeams, storm clouds, and rainbow maidens, and these groups take in most of the Camp Fire girls in Evanston, Wilmette, and Kenilworth. · The total cast in the pageant totals over seventy-five girls. The third section of the program is the Council Fire. It will be carried on as a Service Ceremonial. There will be about three hundred girls in tl!e Ceremonial circle, and these al so represent their groups all over the city. Tickets for the performance may be obtained from any Camp Fire girl or guardian. The seats are the same price all over the house. Frihalo Camp Fire of Kenilworth were hostesses at a party given for Litahni Camp Fire of Evanston, last Friday night. March 4. These groups are high sc hool girls from New Trier and Evanston. Miss Dorothy May, guardian of the Litahni group, has been former guardian of the Kenilworth group, and for her the evening tumed out to be a Birthday Surprise party. The hostes s group earned h.o nors in Yarious ways, making the talley cards, preparing and keeping the cost of the fol)d '"' ithin a certain limit, etc. Catherine ~[o o re of \Vilmette has taken over ~!fr s . Reid's group, Tosholoki Camp Fire. and will act as guardian. Miss Catherine is in charge of all the costumes for the pageant, dyeing them, numbering them. and checking them out to the cast. Two Evanston groups, Litahni Camp Fire. and Quannacut group, will attend church in a body on Camp Fire Sunclay. )..[arch 13. During the service they will he given an opportunity to sing two Camp Fire numbers. ~I iss J:oy Scouts Each month the troops of the North Shore area rate themselves on their progress and strength. These reports are gone over by a committee and the troop scoring the' highest is awarded the inte.r -troop efficiency award, an attractive leather shield. The first name to he engraved on this per pet u a 1 shield, is that of Troop 13 of Keuilworth which is doing exceptionally fine work under the leadership of Scoutmaster Robert Townley and S. P. L. Arthus Mclntosch. · At the M;arch Junior office.rs' con ference, more than 100 older scouts. junior leaders in their respective troop s, will hear Bob Becker. famous for his "\Voo<l and \Vater s" in the Chicago Tribune.
