Schumacher of Wilmette, appointed to Office in Winnetka, With Former Postal Associate A veritable reunion took place in the official family of the Winnetka postoffice Thursday, when ]. F. Schumacher, of 1000 Forest avenue. Witmette, assumed the duties of assistant postmaster in Winnetka with his oldtime friend and former postal · associate, Joseph C. Braun. Mr. Braun is the newly-appointed postmaster to succeed Elmer E. Adams, whose resignation took . effect last month. Mr. Schumacher has been in the postal service for a number of years, seven of which he spent as assistant postmaster in Wilmette, from 1913 to 1920. Postmaster · Braun was a carrier in the Wilmette postoffice at the same time. An old-time friendship exists hetween the two which makes doubly pleasant the opportunity which is again offered to labor together. Backs Basketball Tournam.ent Here The Playground and Recreation boar.Q. has planned a basketball tournament for the teams which have competed in the winter program in basketball. This will be an elimination tournament i!l which the team that loses, drops out of the tournament. No prize is to be awarded to the winners, other than the honor of winning. The first game is to be played between the Methodist and St. Joseph, 1, at 7:30, March 23. The State Bank and the Presbyterian teams play at 8:30 the same evening for the second game. The winners of these two games will play again on April 6, at 7:30. The other games in the first round will be played on March 30, whcr: the Terminal A. C., 2, will meet the K. of C. at 7 :30 and the Terminal A. C.. 1, wilt meet the St. Joseph, 2, team. The winners of these two games play April 6 at 8:30. All the games in this tournament wi11 he played at the Howard school gymnasium.
