Troop I has been organized again under the able leadership of Miss Betty Brown and her assistant, Miss Iris Boulton, well liked and known gym teacher at New Trier. Much enthusiasm ·has been shown not only by the girls but also by their parents. The officers are: Chairman, Marian Anderson ; secretary, Grace Cooke ; treasurer, Frances Stiles. The elected Patrol Leaders are : Margaret Bickham, Janet Brown, Helen Randall and Ethel Rosberg. Dorothy Taylor and_ Virginia \Verden are serving for Ethel Rosberg and Margaret Bickham, because other interests take up some of the former Patrol Leaders' time. The troop meets every other Friday evening at the First Congregational church. A Court of Awards is planned for March 30 and it is a very long-looked.:. forward-to event of the year. This will be the first one that Troop I has ever had because formally the awards have been awarded at an Investiture, but now the rank of Tenderfoot is not awarded at a Court of Awards and only Second Class and ranks higher up. The highest award to be awarded March 30 will be two First Class Badges. This unusual rank is being received by these girls because of the ability they have shown in all fields since their scouting days began. Of course there are many more requirements for this rank and are very hard, in fact so hard, that these two girls are the first to receive the badge in the present organization of the troop. The girls are not only well known in Scouting, but also in school and community life. They are : Marian Anderson and Frances Stiles. The troop is very proud of these girls and the Village of Wilmette ·~a..-- has every right to be proud also. A dinner is to precede the Court of A wards and the chairman of the evening will be Marian Anderson. Girl Scouts from all the Wilmette troops are invited and also parents and friends. The time has not been definite~Y" set, but it will probably be 6 p. m. The committee that has charge of the Court of Awards is under the able leadership of Marian ,Anderson and much of it's success depends on her, but it can be said that we can depend on having it a success because all enterprizes that she attempts to lead are done to the the best of her ability and there's no end to her ability. The whole ·troop is lending a hand in making this Court of Awards a grand success, but it takes Marian to put it together just right and make it go off in the· best possible way. The Court of Awards is going to serve two purposes, namely : to award all badges, and to officially introduce their captain, Miss Betty Brown of Kenilworth. . Re&)orts are encouraging f om Sidney Eastman who has been Ul at .the Presbyterian ho~pital for many weeks. He is much improved in health. ---------------------------~ SPRING SHOWING Frocks that baYe aa oriaiaality aacl clistiactiYmns that 10 clefiaitely marks tbaa "from Prnaacb."
