The natural growth of business during the period since that time. however, has forced them to again jncrease their space to handle the patronage which has been accorded them. Workmen are now busy remodelling and outfitting the store room immediately adjoining their store to the east, which was formerly occupied by the Bell Dress shop. Three thousand square feet of floor space is added by virtue of the new display room, bringing the total to more than 8,000 square feet. A doorway has been cut through the div(ding wall, thus connecting the two stores. The front part of the new storeroom will be devoted to the display of refrigerators, gas ranges, garden and lawn tools and garden and lawn furniture, while the tin and sheet-metal shop, formerlv housed in the rear of the other building, will be installed in the rear part of the new room. By this means additional space has been created in the rear part of the original building and this is being divided for various purposes. One will house a fencing and wire department. Another is being outfitted as a builder's hardware display room and cabinets have been constructed to hold the various types and finishes of door locks and hinges. cabinet locks, window catches and like articles. Additional office space is also provided. John Mill en, founder of the business, first opened a hardware store in the building now occupied by the Taylor Booterv on Main street about twenty years ago.
