A IIIia ol Meaaaa to North Sbore People Who Miabt Like to New Trier lo Lose Star Swimmers via Graduation Route When Coach Edgar Jackson's New Trier swimmers split a twin bill out at Cicero this week they rounded out a season that, while not free from defeat, points the way to anothe_r championship team in one, or posstbly two years. Coach Jackson will lose a number of good men. Captain Bennett will leave a vacancy in the forty and hundred yard eve!'ts, althou~h Norman Russ is usually m a hurry m these two races, and should take Bennett's plac~. He has two more years of compeh- . tion. Booth, of the senior back stroke men, leaves in June. Preston Read and Ralph Netterstrom, who have managed to annex a number of places in back stroke events. also leave in June. Bob King and Norman Grandstrom swam this event in the junior division this year but will be. moved up to the senior division next season. In the 220-yard swim-the longe~t event on the list-Coach Jackson w·ll have to find someone to take Netterstrom's olace. The breaststroke duo will be broken up, as both Rich and Rogers completed their fourth year of competition. In the diving division I;nchelmeyer as well as Don Grandstrom will h~ back next year. Other prospects for next year's team are ·Larner. Patterson Williams. Prussing. Sprenger. Bc~t Rohb. and Zinner, all of whom have 'had experience this year as junior, or senior swimmers. Betts, won the championship of the five-game series in woman's basketltall sponsored by the Wilmette Playground and Recreation board, by defeating the 8-Diamonds last Mondav evening. The Rinky Dink team ca~e in second place having suffered only one defeat at the hands of the Horsefeathers earlier in the series. The O'Kays won third place after a defeat administered by the Rinky Dinks Monday evening. Miss Carrie Chase i:; captain of the Rinky Dink team and Miss Marcella Kummer of the O'Kays. The basketball league, having prO\·en entirely successful, the Playground and Recreation board is sponsoring another woman's athletic ·league in volley ball to be played during April and early May. The first game of the series will be played April 9 at the Stolp gymnasium.
