May 25, 1928 WILMETTE LIFE KENILWORTH HIGH IN VOTERS' FLAG CONTEST Wilmette Ranks Third in Township-Wiele Competition Sponsored by Waltoniana The American flag, which is pre- , sented by the Izaak Walton league of Winnetka after each election in New Trier township to that village which polls the largest vote in proportion to the total number of registered voters in the village, was presented last week by Carl Zeiss to Kenilworth in whose behalf it was received hv Mrs. M. \V. Cresap, president of the Kenilworth League of Women Voters. 'The percentages for the April Primary were a·s follows : Kenilworth, 83% Winnetka, 81% Wilmette, 70o/c Glencoe, 64% The precentages were based on the County_ Clerk's record of the actual number who voted and his record of the voters reJ!istered. . 1 Win Fla1 Second Time This is the second time that Kenilworth has won the flag, the previous time being at the primary election in 1926. Winnetka won it in the general election in 1926. · \Vhen the flag- is \\·on. three times hv one of the New Trier Township villages it becomes the permanent propert~· of that village.
