His concert marked the last of a very active musi ~ cal season in the Bulgarian capital. This season such artists as Cortot, Kubelik, and Huberma!l have given recitals but, according to U. S. Charge d'affaires Trojan Harding, Lusk has the distinction of being the first American artist to have · e~er played in Sofia. The interest evidenced by the public in this concert was imme11se, especially since there were num\Jers on the program UJlfamiliar to the Bulgarian music lovers. The spontaneous and long continued hearty applause which greeted th_e violinist at the very beginning increased as the program continued and became a veritable ovation after he finished the Hungarian Rhapsody by Hubay. He was kept busy adding ·numer:ous encores to an insistent and wildly enthusiastic audience. league, being the only undefeated team in the league, and Laurel and the Beach team are tied for second place since both have won one and lost one game.
