Collegians in an excur·sion to "Coney Island" next week. But you won't have .to go all the way to New York to see the famous playground, for it's going to be right on the Norshore stage. Frankie Masters will lead the "excursion" and it is understood that he has plans made for a gala time. On the screen beginning Sunday the Norshore will offer the great laugh classic, "Steamboat Bill, Jr.," with Buster Keaton and Ernest Torrence. Mr. Torrence, known as "Steamboat Bill," runs an old steamer, "The S~ne wall .Jackson," up and down the Mississippi. Mr. King, the big man of those parts, buys a shining white rival that he calls the "King." Bill and King are at loggerheads. From Boston comes Bill's· son, whom he hasn't seen since babyhood, and who is terribly hard for a father to take·Mr. Keaton-and almost simultaneously enters King's daughter, also home from .a Boston school. The two greet each other joyfully, to the wrath of their respective parents, and their ro· mance proceeds under great difficulties, which comprise most of the action from then on. A life-sized cyclone finally blows in perfect peace and unde~ standing to all interested parties. There is some good stunt stuff in "The Lion and the Mouse," vitaphone picture playing at th~ Gran~da theater this week, has been drawtng capacity crowds, and the management has decided to hold the picture for another week. The stage show will be the same for next week also, Benny Meroff in "Love Ships," with Don Armond of George White's Scandals, Rose Mary, Summers and Hunt, Zastro and White, and others. The fact that a Barrymore is in the cast of "The Lion and the Mouse" is probably one reason why it has been held over. It. is Lionel this time. Other notables in the cast include May McAvoy, William Collier, Jr., and Alec B. Francis. The picture is a powerful drama of modern life and comes in the class of "best movies," according to the critks. NEW COOLING SYSTEM The Teatro del Lago in "No Man's Land" has just instal~d an Arctic Nu Air cooling system for the cc.mfort of its patrons during the hot summer months. The system is designed to keep the interior of the theater at an even temperature at all times. the picture and also some lovely scenery. Mr. Keaton's little new leading lady, Marion Byron, is cunning and has a good sepse of the ridiculous.
