E. Moore, health commissioner of the village. Whooping 'cough still hangs on, but the number of ca'ies of that disease reported is much less than a few week · ago. At the beginning of July there were about fifty cases of whooping cough, while on August 1 only 14 places remained placarded. The health commissioner's office has again issued a warning to keep coughing children at home in order to prevent the spread of the. disease, which has been especially noticeable along the north shore this summer. Three ca~es of chicken pox and one of pneumonia were reported at the beginning of this month. U., 1730 Chicago avenue, and wm keep that organizatjo~ active, it is reported, until November 5. The carppaign is the part of the organization's contribution to national politics in the year of a campaign issue. It is conducted on non-partisan and non-p_ e rsonal lines. Hundreds of pound·s of literature are coming to and .leaving from the building under the general direction of Mrs. Anna Marden De Yo. Mrs. Ella Boote, national president of the organizati01_ 1, who was elected world vice-president in July at the meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, is expected to return to Evanston next week to aid in supervising the campaign di~ection. Miss Anna Adams Gordon, world president, will arrive in the east this week and will visit friends there before returning to Ev_; anston. Mrs. Margaret Munns, national and world treasurer, is prolonging her '$tay abroad and visiting several pbces on the continent and in the British Isles before returning. Miss Jane Moist of 1140 Sheridan road who is on a European tour this summer is now in Switzerland. She and her party will go from there to Germany, then to Austria, and Paris, and to England.
