He defeated Bill Morris, Senn High school champion, ·in the semi-finals 6-2, 6-8, 6-3, 6-4. . Stewart reached the semi-finals on a default by ], Iliff, after preyiously. defeating D. Wanger and Marshall Dudley by decisive scores. After beating BUt Ro~bins and Bitt" Gibson in the early rounds, Morris met Dean Vail in the qua_rter finals and won 6-3, 6-3. John Sheldon, winner of the tournament at New Trier last year, is the favorite who is expected to meet Stewart for the championship in the junior singles division this year. Sheldon is taking part in a tournament elsewhere and the play in the ·first bracket . has been slowed up because of his absence. J. Parker defeated Clall.de Hill in a junior singles match Tuesday 8-6, 6-3. In the m~n's singles divi-.~ion of the tournament play has not advanced beyond the first round. Results of late matches were as follows: B. J. Smith beat Frank \Villard 6-1, 2-6, 6-4; A. Seddon beat Bud Calloway 6-0, 7-5; and Bill Morris beat · Dick Burke 6-2, 6-3. McLain and O'Brien reached the second round in the doubles play by defeating Kahler and Snyder 6-0, 6-3, after whipping Simmons and Nelson in the first round 6-3, 64. In another late first round match Holter ana Flemin~ beat Munns and Crawford 6-1, 6-8, 6-3. Change Virginia Ave. in Kenilworth to Kent Road A petition from residents on Virginia avenue, Kenilworth, to change the n9_me of that street to Kent road was p.resented to the Kenilworth Village. board at its regular meeting Monday night. The petition was granted. The purpose of the change was to conform to the general plan of street names for the viJlage, most of which are taken from Sir Walter Scott's novel, "Kenilworth."
