R, Pershall's conversation wtth you yesterday relative. to the article appearing in the August 10 issue· of the Wilmette Life on the subject of electric light' rates in the Village of Wilm~tte, I desire to give you additional information on this subject in order that your readers may have all of the facts. The ordinance permit under which the company has been furnishing electric service in the Village of Wilmette is for a term of twenty-five years and expires on December 15, 1928. Years ago when this ordinance was granted municipalities occasionally in their desire to have income for village operations incorporated in ordinances a provision that the utility pay into the viilage treasury a percentage of its gross receipts, equivalent generally to lc per kilowatt-hour of a portion of the customers' consumption, within the corporate limits of the municipality. This was done in the case of the Village · of Wilmette electric ordinance expiring on December 15, 1928.
