4 WILMETTE LIFE September 7, 1928 Religious Education Director Arrives to Take Up New Duties · The Rev. Emmett S. Johnson has arrived in Wilmette from Chattanooga, Tenn.L to assume his new duties a~ director of religious education at the Wilmette Parish Methodist church. He accepted the position several weeks ago. Mr. Johnson has had wide experience in his profession. For the past four years he has been director of religious education at the Centenary Methodist Episcopal Church at Chattanooga, Tenn. ·He has been a teacher in standard leadership training schools in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Louisville, and other southern ciJies, and was the organizer of the City of Chattanooga Council of Religious Education Workers. He was president of that body in 1926-1927 ami a!lain in 1927-1928. and was also president of the council of directors of religious education in the Methodist Episcopal Church South in New Books, also second hand books at a considerable saving.
