For that reasan Balaban · & Katz have persuaded Farina, "Fatty" Cobb, Wheezer, Jean Darling, Mary Ann Jackson, Harpy Spear, and Pete, the dog to return to Chicago for an other appearance. They will be at the Norshore beginning this Saturday, September 8, for six days. Roberta Nangle, of the Chicago Tribune staff, has said of them: "Hal Roach's famous youngsters are as funny and lovable in thi3 personal ap!learance as they have been on the screen, It's refreshing to Jearn that working under Kleig lights has not spoiled these children and that the studio atmosphere, instead of taking the bloom off of their childish charm, has been conducive tp preserving it." "The Firat Kiss" on Screen . The screen attraction at the Norshore beginning this Sunday will be "The First Kiss," with Gary Cooper and Fay Wray. The plot is a variation of the old theme of the penniless youth who loves and is loved by an heiress. Mr. Cooper plays Mulligan Talbot, one of four brothers who are the last of a Jon'! illustrious line of ship builders. The glories of the Talbots' past had dwindled into a ·hopeles s present, and MuJJigan alone of the four hoys ha5 any desire to restore the fam ily name to its former position of P~::tel'm . Milli~an , too loves Anna Lee. daughter of one of the town's best families. One day he kissed her, and though Anna Lfe looked very much as if she wanted to be kissed. she slaps his face with an indignant "How dare you ! You poor white trash!" That was enough to make Mulligan resolve that the Talbots should never be poor white trash, and when the picture ends, the Talbot name is once more the pride of Maryland. The stage show at the Norshore for the comin~ week is to be called lcyHot- Tazz," with Frankie Masters and the Jazz Collegians. 14 "RIO RITA" COMING SOON October 14 is the date and the Itlinois · theater the place tentatively named for the appearance in Chicago of the musical attraction "Rio Rita.
