Denial M. Davis, director of recreation, read the proposed program for the winter and fall, stressing particularly the new activities to be inaugurated at the beginning of the season, October 29. Briefly, the new activities will be two new gymnasium classes, one for men and one for women; swimming classes for women ; and a year-around sports program for women. Quoits has been dropped and the boxing and wrestling for men will be held on Friday evenings following the regular volley ball games. vVith the enlarged program and the appointment of a woman assistant to be in charge of women's work, Mr. Davis is looking forward to one of the biggest seasons in the Recreation board's history, he said in announcing the season's program. :Miss Joe Skidm..>re, who has been named as woman's assistant, has had full charge of outlining the women's activities. Village President Earl E. Orner pre-· sented the medals to the winners of the men and women's playground ball champions, tennis champions, and winners in the singles and doubles horseshoe tournaments. He also presented the victory trophy awarded each year to the winners of the highest number of points in all the leagues conducted by the board. The trophy was presented to the Wilmette Ice company team this year, that aggregation having accumulated a total of 338 poitlts durjng the year. Lincoln C.
