Miss Bertling, a dramatic suprano, showed on Tuesday that her voice lias developed even more denth and rich: ness since she was heard in recit:tl last spring. She is a young artist who has the pois~ personality and inner fire and if one has that certainly the futur~· must appear bright. Perhaps the word "gracefulness" expresses both Miss Bertling and her voice, for in her ~e~ turing and her singing ther(; are~ no sharp edges. LECTURES AT GARDEN CLUB Mrs. David Cooke of Evanston a member of the Wilmette Garden r.t'ub, recently gave a stereopticon lecture at the Crystal Lake Garden club. Her subject was "Rock Gardens."
