Finnigan, head of the manual training and printing departments, have hcen busily engaged working out printing and wood working projects. Boys of the sixth grade have been making miniature monoplanes and sailboats. At the present time the seventh grade manual training work, which is designed by Mr. Finnigan, the instructor, includes the making of threelegged cloverleaf tables of walnut or mahogany. The tables are inlaid. \Vood work for the eighth grade students is largely elective, and many of the boys are making useful home furniture. At the close of each school vear an ooen house is held when the hoys display their work. The printing projects at the school include bulletins, report cards, and other types of school printing. Ballots for the mock election to be held at the school on November 6 recently were ·printed by pupils in the printing department. All of the work is done on a power press in the basement of the school. The concerts given by the Civic orchestra in Orchestra halt under the direction of Frederick Stock and Eric DeLamarter will be given again this season on the last Sundays in Jannary, February and March. The great annual festival of the Civic Music association will be held in Orchestra hall, Sunday afternoon, April 28, with the children's chorus of 1,000 voices and the Civic orchestra participating.
