November 2, 1928 WILMETTE LIPE 13 "Lee Kids" to Appear C hristensens Tell in Penon at Gnnada of Two Weddings Jane and Catherine Lee, popularly, Within Same Week known in the movies as the "Lee Kids," Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Christensen of 724 Twelfth street have announced the marriages of their daughter, Irma, and their son, LeRoy, both events taking place within the past two weeks. Miss Irma Christen:;en and Mattie Thalman of Gross Point were married at 8 o'clock Wednesday night, October 24, in Waukegan. They are living with Mrs. Thalman's parents until they find a suitable residence. ·LeRoy Chri.;tensen and Miss Emma Jensen of Veile, Denmark, were married at 3 o'clock last Saturday afternoon at 924 Westlawn avenue, Racine. They were married in the home of friends with whom Miss Jensen had been living since her arrival from Denmark. The couple are at home to their friends at 1223 Lathrop avenue, Racine. A wedding dinner was given Sunday in Mr. and Mrs. Chri.;tensen's home for the immediate relatives of the Christensen and Thalman families in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Thalman. will appear in person at the Granada theater for one week beginning this Saturday, November 3, in Charles Kaley's new stage show entitled, "Eyes East." The screen offering for the week · at the Granada will be ucaptain Swagger," with Rod LaRocque and Sue Carol, the former Chicago girl, in the leading roles. Mr. LaRocque is seen as a 4aring aviator, who, ·s omewhere in France~ saves the life of the dangerous German aviator, Von Stahl, making the latter eternally grateful. Back in America Captain Swagger runs into hard times-and Sue Arnold (otherwise Sue Carol), who is also intimately acqainted with them. She is a cabaret dancer out of work. Captain Swagger is well known and popu]ar with cafe managers as well as the public, so he and Miss Sue join forces. Eldridge, 1029 Lake avenue. until today when she returns to her home. The Rev. Mr. Bowers was pastor of the Wilmette Congregational church for many years. One novel entertainment given for Mrs. Bowers was a meeting of the old Wilmette club called the "Bookworms" on Wednesday afternoon. The members attended a matinee performance of the theatre and met their husbands for dinner in town. Among those entertaining for her were Mrs. E. Anderson of 1123 Elmwood avenue who gave a family dinner party and Mrs. Eldridge who entertained a few of her old friends at luncheon and bridge.
