WILMETTE LIPE New Trier Meets Strong Oak Park Eleven Saturday New Trier's footbail teams journey to Oak Park, next Saturday, for the first time in five years. The Frosh-Soph game will be a preliminary struggle and then comes . what is bound to be one of the tightest games played in the Suburban league this season. New Trier's record is the better, as the township p_layers have won every game but the one with Lindblom, · which they tied ; while the team from the world's largest village has lost three games and won two. Oak Park, however, put up a close fight against each of its conquerors, and has improved a great deal since the first of the season. Oak Park's line is considerably stronger since Capt. Husky got b_ack at- center last week; but New Trier will have another strong battering ram in Tom Hicks, who has recovered from the charley-horse that kept him out of the last three games. Oak Park started the season by losing to Austin High, 12 to 0, for the first time in seventeen years. Then Bowen administered a decisive licking. Oak Park's two victories were over Morton, 19 to 0, and Moline, ?J to 0. Oak Park showed its best form at Evanston last Saturday. The strong Evanston team was abl-e to put over only one touchdown and the try . for extra point wa~ blocked. Oak Park has not allowed an opponent to gain a single point after touchdown this season. Another interesting fact is that tn every Oak Park game this year the score of one side has been zero. Will t}Jis hold g_ogd next Saturday and if it does who will have the 0? "Indiana" Provides Upset in Intra-Mural Football "Indiana," which had never won a game before, surprised "Illinois," last week, by beating the latter, 6 to 0. "Illinois" is "Chicago's" closest rival for the heavyweight intra-mural foothalt championship at New Trier and "Indiana's" victorv cinches the medals. for Mr. Funkhaus-er's team. The "Chicagoans" can't faii to lose the m.edal unless they lose all the rest of their games and "Illinois" wins all of its encounters. This is not very likely to happen as "Chicago" has won every game but one and "Illinois" has lost two and tied two. "Purdue" and "Indiana" are still at the bottom of the league with "Indiana" in the cellar and the "Boilermakers" on the stairs. "Army" and "Harvard" are both counting on the medals in . the lightweight division. The "Army" is ahead now, with three victories. a defeat and a tie. "Harvard" is close behind with the same number of victories and two losses. "Navv" is third in tine. having won two games, lost two and tied one. "Yale," the only int~a-mural team which has not yet won a g-ame is at the bottom of the ladder. "Yale" has not been defeated every time though, for it has two ties to its credit.
