The Village board in ·regular session Tue·sday night finished its formal business in record time. The regular meeting, which was preceded by an hour's closet session, adjourned in twelve minutes. The usual meeting of the Board of Local Improvements wa·s dispensed with. Two bids were received for the removal of garbage in the village. The present contract with private interests expires next month, and the proposed garbage incinerator, bonds for which were voted at the special referendum on national election day, will not be ready. This make's a new private contract necessary. R. C. Rugen. holder of the present garbage removal contract, volunteered to make three calls daily during the summer and two in the winter for $990 per month. F. H. Biederer submitted a bid of $875 per month for the same work. The matter was referred to the public service committee. Superintendent of Public Works C. C. Schultz wa·s authorized to advertise for bids for two rubber tread snow plows.
