The Alcyon is the first theater in the north shore villages to have complete sound equipment. This Sunday, December 2, has been set as the opening date for the "talkies." In "Melody of Love," the picture to be shown, the characters talk, and there will be an occasional song by Walter Pidgeon, whose vocal abilities had remained hidden until the advent of talking pictures. Tom Dugan also is in the cast. "Melody of Love" will be shown at the Alcyon for three days, Sunday, Mondc:y. and Tuesday, December 2, 3, and 4.. In addition to the regular picture the Alcyon has booked a program of "talkie" acts including Van arid Schenck singing popular songs, Abe Lyman and famous "Good News" orchestra, the Newetls in a comedy skit, and movietone news.
