Regardless of the busy shopping season, many mothers were p~sent to hear Miss Cathr.rine Martin and Miss Margaret Hughes. Mi:;s Martin was most entertaining and instructive in giving her lecture, "Education That Educates." Miss Hughes gave a splendid report of her trip to Cleveland as a deleaate to the National Catholic Welfare council. Four little girls closed the prog ram with readings. The .mothers of the first grade were hoste:;ses. On account of school being closed this week, the plans for "Christma::. Giving" made by the children of S~. Francis Xavier school as a group will be postponed. The children had sold $317 worth of Christma~ seals beforf:' school was closed last week because of illness.
