Wll METTE LIFE' 37 Inter-Troop St~out Contest Won by Kenilworth Boys The Kenilworth Boy Scouts, troop · No. 13, undefeated by any north sh'Jre Scouts' group in the last seven years, won more laurels last Friday night, December 14, when · they took first place in the annual north shore inter-troop Scouting contest held at the Kenilworth Union gymnasium. The Kenilworth Scouts ·had twentyeight points to their credit. Evanston troop No. 7. was second with thirteen. Evanston t :·oop· No. 3 finished third with ten points, and Evanston troop No. 5 fourth with three. Points were a warded 0::1 the basis of proficiency in drilling, knot tying, semaphore -and Morse code signaling, fire by flint and steel, and fire by fiction . With the exception of fire by friction, in which troop No. 7 of Evanston had the most points, Kenilworth excelled in every event, winning the contest decisively in spite of the fact that h,;enty-ninc out of fifty-eight boys were absent on account of illness or for other reasons. One hundred eighteen north shore Boy Scouts, principally from Kenilworth and Evanston, were entered in the various events of the contest.
