The picture is colorfully done. The romance running through it has to do with the love of two pals for the same girl. Grief for both and disgrace for one follow in the train of their passion. Maurice Ryan and Billy Bcckwell introduce the comedy part of the film, bei1ig a pair of midshipmen who arc here, then!, and everywhere with their pranks and their jokes. John Mack Hrown is the yonthf ul undcrgrad who is nobly rolled out for his room-·mate's misdemeanors. and Jeanette Loff ~s the heroine furnishes much blonde hcauty. The photography is splendid and the scenery in and ncar Annapolis something to look at. "Three \Vcck Ends." from a story by Elinor Glyn will be at the Varsity next Monday, 'Tuesday, and \Vednesday. It is a Clara Bow picture, and Miss . Bow will not disappoint you this trip either. She impersonates a good little cabaret chorine, \vlw, tired of squalid living, starts out to land a rich man; falls in love with one she believes to he wealthy; finds out he isn't, and discovers in time that love is better than lucre. Neil Hamilton as the self-confident, somc, vhat bone-headed insurance salesman the lady falls for, plays his part well. The supporting cast meets every requirement. Famous Air Picture at Community House Two Days Next Week "RIO RITA" ON SCREEN The screen rights of "Rio Rita", Florenz Ziegfeld musical show current at the Illinois theater in the loop, have been purchased for FBO Productions, Inc., by Joseph I. Schnitzer, newly elected president of the company. The original "Rio Rita" cast, headed b,:,· Ethelind Terry and J. Harold Murray, will play and sing the leading roles. OPPOSITE MONTE BLUE Ethclyne Clair has been engaged to play th e leading feminine role opposite Monte Blue in his next vitaphone production, "From Headquarters." The first of the series will be presented next Tuesday, January 8. The name Tarzan has long been one to conjure with in the field of books. Edgar Rice Burroughs' widely known character, wh::> first appeared in the novel, "The J un~le Tah~:; of Tarzan," has held the interest of the public for a number of year . Fre1nk Merrill was chose!' to play the role of Tarzan in Univers :.tl' ~ picturization of the character. N ~talic Kingston is the g!rt and At Ferguson the villain, Black John. On the same program ·at Community House will be "Freedom of the Pre:;s." For sheer sweep and PO\\-·er, this picture has few equals. F;-om the very beginning when you see Lewis Stone as the crooked political boss· figthing his boyhood chum, 110w the editor of the Free Press, played by Henry B. \Valthall, who is conducting a fierce campaign to bring out the identity of the members of the vice ring, you know you are in for a thrilling hour or more of entertainment. One is as ruthless in his pursuit of good as the other i:; of evil. Both men give remarkably powerful characterizations. The love story i3 moving in its pathos but finally emerges triumphant. Marceline Day and Malcolm McGregor furnish . the juYenile interest with sincerity. " \\.'ings," starring Clara Bow, Charles (Buddy) Hogcrs, Richard Arlen, anrl Gary Cooper, will be shown two da vs next week at the Communitv Hou~e Friday and Saturday. All wh-o arc in~ terested in high courage, the bravery of unselfish and unheeding youth, the splendor of youthful sacrifice and beauty of human comradeship \\·ill cnjov this picture, which sets forth the wori( of the young knights of the clouds in the war. "\Vings" is essentially a picture of \var, of sacrifice, of :;tern conflict, and of the ultimate test of human endurance and human conquest over fear. A majority of theater-goers, who have no knowledge of aviation, marvel at the astounding scenes and sights presented upon the screen - scen~s which are amplified by mechanical mt>thod3. ...
