January 11, 1929 WILMETTE LIFE' , .. ti "Little Princess" to Be ·Next ·Play at 'Children's Theater "Sara Crewe; or What Happened at Miss Minchin's," which has been a favorite story with children ever since Frances Hodgson Burnett wrote it in the nineties, is the basis of the three· act play, "The Little Princess," which the Children's theater will offer as its second production this season. The play will be given at Haven school theater two Saturdays, Jan. 19 and 26, at 10 in the morning and 2:30 in the afternoon. Every year the Children's theater is to present one successful play of some former season as one of its four productions. This year "The Little Princess," which was the third play of the first season, has been chosen for the revival. The story of the plucky little boarding school girl, whose rich father dies in ln<:lia, ~ leaving her penniless, · is one which never fails to appeal to boys and girls. From Riches to Poverty As the play opens, Sara is celebrating her thirteenth birthday by giving a party to the school. In the midst of the festivities comes the news which changes her from a petted pupil to the cook's errand girl. How her remarkable imagination makes her garret room bearable, and how mysterious friends transform it into a beautiful place malce an interesting story, and the three-act play which Mrs. Burnett has made from it has been popular aJJ over the country. The season ticket campaign for the Children's thea.ter was highly succ~..~ ss ful, about two thousand coupon books having been sold by the parent-teacher associations. The greatest number was sold by upper Haven, Lincolnwood being second and lower Haven third Roycemore and Marywood were also well represented in the season ticket sale. Evelyn was in the fourth grade at the 'Logan school and was a member of the Christian Science Sunday school. Surviving the child are her parents, two sisters, Dorothy and Margery, and two brothers, Charles · and Richard. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Scott's funeral home. Burial was at Memorial Park cemetery. Rev. Edwin G. Hunter, 801 Fifteenth street, who has been seriously ill for several weeks with "flu" is now almost recovered.
