Professional Women Chicken Pox in Village See Emblem Rite at Four new cases of pneumonia, three Meeting on Nov. 25 of whooping cough, and two of chicken An impressive emblem ceremony was conducted by Miss Ruth Rice and Miss :Myrtle Sorensen at the meeting last Monday evening of the Business and Professional \Voman's club in the Children's room of the Public library. At the opening of the ceremony the members of the club arose and each said, "Tonight, I hold in my hand a large candle, a symbol of our love, ideals, and faith. As this light is passed to ,l:OU tonight we charge you to neyer let it grow dim. As you light your taper f.rom thi s light pass on the light so that it mar shine for others, that they may take their light from you until radiance from our many candles shal1 make a golden gleam a·round the world, bespeaking for al1 women, life abundant." It was explained that the emblem hears the initials N. F. B. P. \V. C., the identification of the wearer, and the date 1929, and contains the following emblems: th e Nike of Samothracc, a sy mbol of victory; "the flaming torch of wisdom; lighting the way of all who follow; the \Vinged \Vand of the llerald ushering in the new era of opportunity; the Ship of Commerce carrying the message into all lands; and the Open Scroll of Learning creating ideals and faith." TO DANCE FOR HULL HOUSE Vincenzo Celli will present a dance recital at the Civk theater, Chicago, Sunday afternoon, December 1 at 3 o'clock, for the benefit of th~ Hull House Players. Celli, who was a Hull House boy, has gairied renown in Europe as well as in the United States with his interpretive dancing. He is now connected with the La Scala theater in Milan. Kenilworth Midget Grid Squad Wins Shore Honors Kenilworth's midget football team clinched the championship of the North Shore Grammar School league last Thursday, when the midgets played their last game of the season with the Haven school of Evanston at \Vashington park in Wilmette. The game resulted in a scoreless tie. Ketlilworth's midgl't team was undefeated thi s year. The Kenilworth lightweight team engaged the Ilaven lightweights on the same day at \Vashington park, and this game was also a scoreless tie. The Kenilworth lightweights tied with the Nichols school of Evanston for the north shore championship this season, each team having lost but one game. The play, which was directed by Miss Marion Ortseifen, 337 Essex road, Kenilworth, was entitled, .. Meet the Husband," and was written h:v Mrs. Samuel Merrin, formerly of Wilmette. Several members o{ the Acacia fraternity assisted in the production of the play. Miss Marion Baldwin and Miss Jan<: \Villard both of Wilmette, returned to \Vilmette to spend Thanksgiving with their parents. Both the girls are students at Albion college in Mich. They will return to school on Sunday.
