H~ealth Excavation work has been completed and all foundations are in for the North Shore School of Physical Development building being built within one block of Dyche stadium on the southwest corner of Central street and Eastwood avenue. Construction work is being done hy the 0. W. RosenthalCornell Co. which is just finishing the Emerson Y. M. C. A. building also. Meyer ]. Sturn, 708 Church street, is the architect who designed both buildings. The North Shore school fronts on Eastwood and the main entrance is just around the corner from· Central street. The exterior will be fini shc: d in a new shade of brick which varies from a deep pink to tan in color, and all trim to the lobby is of cut stone flanked by two pylons, and the interior is in Bedford ston e. The entrance will be finished in marble with a tile floor, and steel framed French doors between the . lobbv and the swimi11ing pool will enable guests and student s tll watch aquatic activity. The pool is 25 by 60 feet and the natatorium i.-. fini shed entirely in tile and brick. The lohbv will be completely fini shed in black and gold marble and tra\'ertin e. Besides the pool the ground floor will contain six handball courts, four sq ua sh . and exercise courts, individual separate shO\ver room s for men and women, ma ssage rooms completely equipped for any type of massage includin g electric ho rse s and vibrators. Lockers and dressing room~ are on the mezzanine floor s and there are two solariums . there for giving arti · ficial sunlight baths. A new feature of the building hitherto unknown in physical development schools will be the installatio n of a completely and modernly equipped laundry in the basement. Townley , athletic director at the Joseph Sears school, went to Chippily ridge in the Forest Preserve Sunday afternoon. where they skated on the north branch o·£ the Chicago river. On Tuesclav afternoon Mr. Townley took a group uf fifteen Kenilworth Scouts to skate at the same place. To Demonstrate 'Kenllworth Study Class Will Review "The Axe" The Kenilworth Study ciass met at the home of Mrs. Percy Eckhart, Cumberland road, on Monday morning of this week, and after an .hour's discussion of the "Brand of the Sea" by And·?rscn, enjoyed a buffet luncheon. An almost perfect attendance of the class was noted. Mrs. \V. D. MacClin · tock gave atr enthusiastic discussion in appreciation of this splendid tale of the o;ea, bringing a vivid sketch of . the story and a clear idea of its purpose.
