Jean Kastowsk1 .... --- --- - World Renowned Artists ·Advise Fair Commission Norman Bel Geddes, of New York, who staged "The Miracle" for Morris Gest and Hugh Ferris, architect and artist of the same city, whose work is known in every art gallery in the world, have accepted invitations to act as advisors to the Chicago World's Fair architectural commission, it was announced Monday by Dr. Allen D. Albert, secretary of the body. Both men attended last Saturday's meeting of the commission in New York, Mr. Geddes being asked to advise the commission on the a.rrangement and decoration of the buildings and open spaces of the fair for the best possible dramatic effects. It was his development of unusual dra1.1atic effects for the theater that led to his selection to stage "The Miracle." Recently he and his wife have been engaged in devising an entirely new .)yste~ of window decorations for Fifth avenue merchants. At Saturday's meeting Mr. Geddes expressed eagerness to serve as a consultant for the commission because the Chicago fair presents so many opportunities that were , neglected in other expositions. According to Mr. Ferris, who in the last five years has drawn the attention of the entire architectural world to himself by his rendering of architectural projects, there has "never been such a professional opportunity as is offered by the Chicago World's Fair plans." The specialty of Mr. Ferris, who is about 32 years old, is the drawing of architectural projects so the effect may be anticipated. Mr. Blum, who had been a resident of Wilmette for more than fifty years, died on Tuesday, January 29. His death was said to have been caused by an infection resulting from a fall on a slippery Ridge avenue sidewalk three weeks ago. Two brothers, .
