66 WILMETTE LIFE March 22, 1929 Speaks at '~Expo" ·Benjamin Bills to Address Home "Expo" Visitors Saturday Benjamin Bills, who with his associates developed on the north shore that distinctive community area named Indian Hill Estates, will give an address Saturday night, March 23, at the Better Homes exposition of the W oman's club of Wilmette. His subject will be "Modern Community Development" and the hour is 8 :30 o'clock. Mr. Bills is generally regarded as one of the abler speakers in the Chicago area. In introducing him to the Executives' Club of Chicago where he gave an address recently on ~~Chi cago-Whither Bent and How?" President Perrow of that club characterized him as follows : He comes to us from the stock of a great American: Benjamin Franklin. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago where he obtained his doctor's degree in philosophy and law. He is an author, having written many books. He has been a banker for a long time. He is chairman of the state organization of Boy Scouts. "I believe he must have had a touch of that original electric spark of Benjamin Franklin's, for he has been active in many enterprises until today he is president of The Bills Trust company of this great city." The Bills organizations join with the \Vilmette Woman's club in inviting citizens of the north shore to come and hear Mr. Bills. Mrs. John C. Carpenter of Kenilworth and her new baby arrived home from the Evanston hospital on Tuesday. -oMr. and Mrs. Craig Ketcham, 611 Abbottsford road, Kenilworth have returned from Cuba.
