Class "A" Skokie Reds, one of the north shore's most powerful teams, fought its way to the championship of the Y. M. C. A. class "A" basketball league Tuesday night by nosing out Ehmen's Y-Nots, 14 to 13. The battle was as close as the final score all the way except for the first ten minutes. The Reds started with dash and ran up the score to 7 to 1. and th.en Johnson hit the hoop three times in rapid succession to put the Y-Nots into a tie. From then on not more than one poin~ separated the quintets the rest of the game. At the half the Skokies led 10 to 9. With seconds to play, the Y-Nots were trailing by two points when Johnson got two chances from the penalty line. He dropped the first one, but the secunci missed, which would have tied the score.
