The GleLcoe chapter, in co -operation with the state and national societv of the . D. A . R, is intere sted in ft1rthering . patriotic, educational. ancl historic work. Last year it subscribed generously to the Glencoe ~ight school. to t\\·o ·southern schools for mountaineer!', and to an Indian school in Arizona. Tt gave twice the amount asked. for a scholarship fund. It marked an Indian Trail tree; was instrumental in reestablishing a village flag; decorated the Glencoe Memorial Boulder on Armistice day and on Decoration day; furthered the work of Americanism by co-operating with the Glencoe night school in arranging programs and in the distrbiution of flags and manuals of constiution; and by placing framed patriotic mottoe ' and pictures in the scl)Ools, and in assisting \York at Ellis rsland. The largest work of the year \\'as rai'3ing. with the help of other societies in Glencoe. $45() for the building fund for Constitution hall, in \Vashington. The chapter gives, each year. eight interesting programs. some of which are open to the public. It co-operates, when asked to do so, with the work of other local chapters. A budget to cover these expenses i·3 not a small matter. ' · ,, TO ADDRESS W. C. T. U. The Vv. T. C. U. of \Vilmette and \Vinnetka will meet with Mrs. Lydia E. Huston of 462 Provident avenue next Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The speaker will be Miss Nelson, instructor of nurses at Frances Willard hospital in Austin. She will give an interesting talk on her work. All friends of the organization are invited to be present.
