"Ned McCobb's Daughter," coming to the Teatro next Wednesday, April 3, presents Irene Rich in the role of an unhappily married young woman, the wife of a former convict who keeps a restaurant on the coast of Maine. Her .husband steals $2,000 from a transportation company and, when his criminality is revealed, she obtains that amount from a bootlegger to prevent her husband's arrest. The bootlegger makes her home the base of his rum running operations, and this leads up to a series of thrilling events. The picture is an adaptation of Sidney Howard's Theater Guild drama which scored heavily in New York and elsewhere. Stupendous Production The South of old, with its charming gallantry and beautiful women, .is colorfully transported to the screen m "Uncle Tom's Cabin," the stupendous Universal-Pollard production which will open at the Teatro del Lago next Thursday, April 4, for a run of three days.
