WILMETTE LIFE April 5, 1929 Movie for Chlldren Aids Fund for Nursery School A motion picture, "Chang," will be shown this Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Kuppenheimer hall of tht! Skokie school, Winnetka, as the second in a .series of four movies given Satunlays to swell the maintenanf:e fund of the Winn~tka Nursery school. The four pictures being shown are particularly attractive to children. "Nanook of the North" drew a good crowd last Saturday and it is hoped that an even larger one will view "Chang" this week. The third movie will be "Peter Pan,". and "Old Ironsides" will cqmplete the group. Tickets for the programs may be purchased at the door. Railway Honors Its World War .Dead at · Services Saturday . The United States' twelfth anniversary of her entrance into the World war will take on an added peace-time significance at 1 o'clock Saturday, April 6, in Chicago when the Chicago and North Western Post No. 430 of the American Legion unveils and dedicates a memorial tablet for employes over the entire system who went "Over There" but failed to come back. Fifty-three of the names are for men who died instantly in battle, and fiftyfive are for men who went down with boats, or died in battlefield hospitals. Their memory will be perpetuated on the bronze plaque at the southwest corner of the train floor of the Chicago Madison stre~t terminal. Fred \V. Sargent, president of the North estern , will accept the gift for the railway after dedicatory services in which David L. Shillinglaw, state commander of the Legion, and W. H. Roberts, commander of the railway post, will take part. The 268 members of the post will pay respect to their .former comrades. The oldest living Illinois Civil War veteran , Judge F. W. Seymour of Maywood, who is 95 years old, will b e joined b~, his G. A. R. companion, Col. W. P. Turner of Evanston, 84 years old, in honoring thos e who gave their lives in America's last war. A FRIENDLY PLACE TO LIVE Ask Railroad to Re-pave Road at Loading Platform The Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee railway will be asked to repave the entire stretch of street between it s two loading platforms in Kenilworth. Decision to present this request was made by the Village board of Kenilworth at its regular meeting ~fonday night.
