Head of Insurance I I Co. mpany;l): ies,Here Thomas Moore Knox, 71, Chicago manager and .director of the Lincoln Natio11a1 Life-' Insuranc~ company, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Sunday, April 21, at his home, 519 Forest avenue, Wilmette. He had been a resident of Wilmette for thirty-four years. Born in Armoy, Ireland, in 1858, Mr. Knox came to this country in 1879. He located at Austin, Tex., where he was married in 1881 to Miss Margaret Glass. He came to Chicago in 1886 and was clerk in the Corn Exchange National bank. At various times Mr~ Knox had been general agent of the New York Life . Insurance company, Illinois manager of the North American Life Insurance company, and head of the grain department of Armour and company. Between 1895 and 1900 Mr. Knox was a member of the board of education of Wilmette. He was a member of the Shawnee Country club of Wilmette, the Chicago Athletic club, and a leader in Chicago Association of Commerce affairs . Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Knox. and a daughter, Mrs. Tohn J. Spear, of Winnetka. A son, Dr. 0. M. Knox, died two years ago. Funeral services for Thomas Moore Knox were held Wednesdav. April 23, from his late residence. 519 F'v-...~.-:-t~v.f>: nue.
