Recitalist .Firat Grade Pupils Hold Pet Show-Award Prizes GUIDE-LECTURE TOURS Next week's guide-lecture tours at Field Museum of Natural History will begin Monday, June 3, with .,Economic Minerals" at 11 o'clock, and "Mammals of North America" at 3 o'clock. On Wednesday at the same hours subjects will be "Economic Plants" and ".China," and on Friday, "Trees and Their Products" and "Arctic Life." On Tuesday and Thursday, also at 11 and 3 o'clock, synoptic tours of the departments of anthropology, botany, geology and zoology will be given. These tours of museum exhibits, conducted by mem- . bers of the staff, are free. Parties assemble inside the north entrance. . Mrs. Hollas Gilbert's first grade purJls at the Central school staged a pet - - - - - - - - - - - - -....·· show on the lawn adjoining the school office on Tenth street Tuesday afternoon from 1 o'clock to 3:30. The show was t~e culmination . of a pet proiect on whJch the pupils have been working for several months, the purpose of which was to encourage the · proper care of pet13. Dogs, cats, canaries, turtles, and fish ~ere among the animals on exhibition. Some of the children who had no pets displayed flowers . Prizes were presented to the winners in the pet show as follows: first, blue ribbon.: second, red ribbon ; third, yellow nbhon. and honorable mention, EYanslon Travel Bareaa , white ribbon.
