Three Purple Athletes in Intercollegiate Meet ... Three Northwestern athletes v-ill bid for national honors in the intercollegiate meet to be held at the University of Chicago this weekend. Coach Frank Hill is planning to enter Rut ·Walter, quarter-miter, Tom Warne, pole vaulter, and MacLean Brown, javelin. Walter has won the -l40 in the \Vestern conference meets for the last two years and is one of the fastest men in the countrv in this event. He left all · competitiOJ1 far behind in the Big Ten meet this year and covered the distance in :48.6. Tom \Varnc, who is co-holder with McDemott of Illinois of the Big Ten pole vault' record set up in the con ference meet ·at Dyche stadium, has per:formed c-onsistently throughout the season and should register a leap of over 13 feet, 6 inches in the nationals. His mark in the western conference is 13 feet, 7 inches. MacLean Brown, a sophomore, has placed in all meets this spring and took fourth in the conference.
