The North Shore · group of the Women of the Rotary entertained at a luncheon and bridge party at Club Vista del Lago last Wednesday. Members of the Rogers Park group were guests. This was the final meeting of the group before its' work will be resumed in September. Mrs. Frank Burpee of Wilmette, retiring social chairman, was in charge of the party. · Mrs. Gordon Wilson Is Chosen Chairman of !lrt League Board Mrs. Gordon Wilson has been made chairman of the board of directors of the North Shore Art league, to serve until the election of a president of the league next fall. She was elected recently at the first meeting of the new board. At this same meeting Mrs. Frank Peyraud was appointed chairman of the program committee, which \\'iii work during the summer to insure a successful season next year. . Helping Mrs. Peyraud are Allen Philbrick of W.,innetka and Mrs. Alonzo Coburn and Mrs. Gordon Wilson, both of Wilmette. Another series Qf lectures by Dudley Crafts Watson will be sponsored oy the .league next fall, after Mr. \Vatson's return .home. He is spending the summer in Europe, collecting inter esting new material. A number of the artists meet even· Saturdav afternoon at the Ravinia post office, and from there go out on sketching trips to attractive spots . All north shore artists are welcome to join this group. · CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY · Mr. and Mrs. Roy M . . Kirtland of 420 Washington avenue were given a surprjse par1y las't Saturday evening ~lt the Midland Country club by Dean Lake Traxler of Evanston. on the occasion of their tenth wedding anniversary. There were about twenty guests at dinner and bridge. Later Mr. and Mr . Kirtland took their friends to the new Medinah Athletic club for a· midnight supper.
