It will he hl'ld at 2 o'clock \Vednesday afternoon at thc \'illage Green. M o re than 300 boys and girls are expected to compete in th l' events of the afternoon and, since it is the major l'\'ent of the s ummer schedule, more than twice that number of spectators is expected t o attend . " The program of events includes contests for children of every age from six and under, through the fourteenth year, which is the last year children are eligible to attend t-he playgrounds. Races and field · rvents will be interspersed with non~lty races to give earh participant equal chance with the outstanding athletes. Each of the three playgrounds, Central, Village Green, and Vattmann will enter three contestants for each event and the winners of the three upper places in each contest w ::t be presented blue, red, and white ribbons respectively. Great 'tnterest is also· being displayed m the handicraft activity of the week which is basket-weaving with ratfia and reed. The best baskets an(I other article made with raffia will be displayed at the annual Q}ayground handicraft exhibit held the last week of the summer playgrounds.
